We kick off CS Coffee Talks, a new student organisation at ITU, which hosts monthly talks by members of the CS department here at ITU.
First in line is Peter Sestoft, Head of Computer Science. Peter will talk about programming in the early days of digital computers, the development of programming languages and compilers in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and how the nordic countries have given rise to an large number of influential programming languages, compilers, and concepts.
Peter Sestoft 👨💻 is head of the ITU Computer Science Department and has worked for ITU since 1999 where he taught its first programming course. He has written books on Java, C#, programming language concepts, program transformation, and spreadsheet implementation.
